Simon knows every bend

Having lived in the Lakes for almost thirty years, I have extensive knowledge of the local roads, scenic routes, mountain passes and hidden gems that make this one of the finest riding destinations in the UK.

As a keen motorcyclist - and a long-serving member of the Kendal Mountain Rescue Team - I also know the best biker-friendly cafés and stopping points along the way. My aim is simple: a relaxed, memorable ride where you focus on the road while I take care of the rest.

Frequently asked

Do I need my own motorcycle and licence?
Yes. All riders provide their own roadworthy, insured motorcycle and hold a full valid licence appropriate for it. Pillion passengers are welcome.
I'm worried I'll slow the group down — is that a problem?
Not at all. Our rides are about enjoying the scenery and the roads, not racing. We ride at a comfortable pace, make regular stops, and make sure everyone has a safe, enjoyable day.
How long are the tours and how far do we ride?
Day tours typically last 6–8 hours including scenic and refreshment stops, covering around 90–130 miles depending on the route and the weather.
Do tours run in the rain?
Yes — as motorcyclists know, a little rain is part of the adventure, and it's what keeps the lakes filled. Tours proceed unless conditions become genuinely unsafe, in which case we'll reschedule or refund.
What riding gear do I need?
An approved helmet plus a motorcycle jacket, gloves, trousers and suitable boots. Lake District weather changes fast, so waterproofs are highly recommended.
